This sacred ritual is performed to honor ancestors and seek their blessings. Spiritually, it provides peace to departed souls, strengthens familial bonds, and invokes divine grace for the well-being and spiritual upliftment of the devotee and their family.

Materials required from Devotees:

Please bring the following items for the puja:

  • Pitra Tarpan Plate for offerings to ancestors
  • 30g Black Sesame Seeds (Til), very important
  • Fruits, such as banana, coconut and seasonal fruits
  • Flowers, fresh seasonal flowers
  • Oil or Ghee Lamp (Deepam)
  • Betel Leaves and Betel Nuts
  • Pandit Dhanam, such as vegetables or other traditional offerings

Dress Code

Devotees are requested to wear a dhoti for the puja.
An angavastram is also recommended. If you do not have one, it is optional.
